Solution 1: Completely remove old drivers using DDU

  1. Download Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) from a reputable source.
  2. Restart your computer and boot into Safe Mode.
  3. Launch DDU and select GPU from the device type dropdown menu, then select NVIDIA.
  4. Click on Clean and restart.
  5. Once your computer restarts into normal Windows, do not connect to the internet to prevent Windows Update from automatically downloading a driver.
